Refused to exchange soda stream refill product


Never in all of my life have I been treated so disrespectfully by a retail business. We went to the local Walmart to exchange a Soda Stream Co2 tube that came with our recently purchased starter kit. When we reached the customer service desk we were met by a very rude customer service cashier who lied to us about the availability of the refill cartridges. The the story became that she could not exchange the type of Co2 tube that we were given with our starter kit. Finally after giving us all sorts of grief she stated she would go to get a "manager who could handle the situation". She was gone at least 10 minutes or more and when she returned she brought a woman with her who refused to exchange our product. My husband explained to this woman that he had just spoken with the Soda Stream company on the phone and that we could exchange the product at Walmart. Not only did the woman treat us badly but when my husband called the Soda Stream Company back, the woman refused to speak with the Soda Stream representative on the phone and pushed the phone back in my husband's face. We were then told that someone was going to get a "store manager". During the entire time we were there the "customer service associates" were extremely rude, hostile and disrespectful. When the store manager arrived he listened to our request but denied our request to exchange our Co2 container despite the fact that we could have him speak with the Soda Stream Company himself. He would not make the exchange for us. When we voiced our complaint about the way we were treated by his staff he acted less than disinterested. While my husband explained to him how upsetting the whole experience had been he just stood with a smug smile on his face. When the conversation was over we received no satisfaction nor any apology for the way we were treated. Walmart thinks we are just one small customer and so they don't care about how they treated us today. I hope they realize that they will follow in the footsteps of many of the other " big" companies that have gone belly up because of the way they have mistreated their customers. We will never shop at this Walmart ever again and plan to tell all of our families, friends and business contacts to do the same. There is no excuse for treating customers badly!!!!!
